Components

Argentum's Digital Current (DC) Power Distribution System (the SpacrGrid) is composed of simple, modular components.

SpacrGrid is the solution to the problem that's been overlooked for too long: the need to eliminate inefficient power conversions.

SpacrGrid connects to your main electrical distribution panel, then sends DC power to the SpacrNode, which distributes DC power to all connected devices (such as LED lighting and HVAC).

SpacrPanel

Just like a typical electrical distribution panel, the SpacrPanel supplies power to the electrical devices in a building. The difference is that SpacrPanel converts the AC power from the grid to DC power, saving energy by making one highly efficient conversion at the source, instead of multiple inefficient conversions at the point-of-load.

How does the SpacrPanel save your building energy?

The SpacrPanel eliminates the need for individual AC-to-DC converters because it converts before any of the power is distributed so that devices get the DC power they need.

Every time energy is converted, some of the energy is wasted to heat. So by reducing the number of converters necessary down to just 1, about 20% of your building's energy is conserved.

SpacrPanel will work easily in most buildings because it can be connected directly to an electrical panel, and distribute as wide a voltage range as from 12 - 750 Volts DC.

SpacrNodes

The SpacrGrid includes intelligent DC load controllers called SpacrNodes that are interconnected wirelessly through a mesh network. These nodes are connected to the SpacrPanel with any type of cable, and automatically detect the type of load they are connected to (i.e. LED light or HVAC system).

How do the SpacrNodes Optimize the System?

SpacrSwitch

The SpacrSwitch is a long-life (10-year), wireless, programmable switch for lighting or any other connected load that needs local remote controls.

How does the SpacrSwitch fit into the system?

It works as a remote control for any of the connected devices that you might want to control locally. LED lights, HVAC, motorized roller shades, and anything else you can think of, can all be controlled using a SpacrSwitch.

It's compact, wireless, and fits behind a standard sized decorator wall plate. It can also sit flush on a wall, so that no recess needs to be made in the drywall (no cutting).

No wiring is required because it's a wireless device. This saves on electrical labour and material costs, and makes it easy for you to move the switch to different rooms, or carry it around as a remote control.
